If you are a Missouri registered voter and are qualified to vote absentee for an upcoming election, you have the following options: on the Saturday immediately preceding any election. However, qualified voters who have a legal reason as provided by statute may be able to cast an absentee ballot prior to any given election. The State of Missouri does not permit early voting as is the practice of some other jurisdictions.

In no case shall registration for an election extend beyond 10:00 p.m. In order to vote in any election for which registration is required, a person must be registered to vote in the jurisdiction of his or her residence no later than 5:00 p.m., or the normal closing time of any public building where the registration is being held if such time is later than 5:00 p.m., on the fourth Wednesday prior to the election, unless the voter is an interstate former resident, an intrastate new resident or a new resident, as defined in section 115.275.

If a voter is already registered and moves to a new residence located within the same county, that voter will need to update their registration, preferably before Election Day. Special elections may also be called in February and June by certain public entities. Regular elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in April, August, & November. The County Clerk is the Election Authority for Webster County and its political subdivisions, and is also responsible for conducting all public elections. There are nearly 25,000 registered voters in Webster County. The Webster County Clerk’s Office is responsible for all voter registration activities in the county.
